Turn Negative To Positive With Sales Training: by Bob Beck
66Sales Training: Turn Negative to Positive
Sales training is a great tool to help you turn your negative thoughts into positive thinking and become a Sales Guru.
It is a priceless gift for anyone to understand they can be way down in a situation and turn it around regardless how hopeless it appears by making some adjustments in their attitude and actions.
Just like so many other things, having a positive outlook is not always natural. There are two basic things that have to take place to develop a positive mental attitude.
- Get rid of negative thinking patterns and actions
- Develop good positive thinking habits
Stop thinking negative thoughts. Sounds easy enough. Here’s how:
Recognize when you have one and replace it with a positive thought.
20 Sales Training Tips To Rid The Negative
You probably didn’t build negative thought patterns overnight, and it might take a little time to weed them out, but if you practice with these 20 sales training tips, you are on your way to changing your thinking.
20 sales training tips to help you get rid of negative thinking
- Identify the negative people who throw you negative thoughts. If you catch these thoughts, throw them away. (Don’t throw them back.)
- Minimize your contact with these people.
- Write down every negative word or phrase you say or think.
- Replace it with a positive thought.
- Develop a plan with your positive thoughts that you put in to action to change your situation.
- Keep a daily journal for one week, writing down what is/was so bad about your day. You will likely see a pattern develop over time, making it easier for you to determine who or what is making you negative.
- In your journal, also write one good thing you did for yourself, one good thing someone did for you, one good thing you saw another do for themself, and one good thing you saw others do for others.
- Be consistent with all the above actions.
- Surround yourself with positive people you’d like to emulate.
- Build on your strengths.
- Determine what would make you happy, thus more positive.
- Create a step-by-step action plan with dates associated with each action.
- Pick a person or a group of people you can help to make happy. If you are ever feeling sorry for yourself go to a shelter and volunteer. For that matter, volunteer anyway to help anyone less fortunate. It will make you feel good and make their life better.
- Everyday, for one month, make a list twenty-five positive words and phrases you can think of. Write them down. Just thinking about these words won’t do the trick.
- Post this list of words somewhere so you will see it many times a day. It will soon come natural for you to incorporate these words and phrases into your daily conversations and thought processes.
- Be purposeful in your quest for a positive mental attitude.
- Be decisive and don’t look backwards. Hesitation will bring back negative thoughts like “what if,” “should of,” “would of,” “could of,” “maybe,” and “can’t.”
- Again, be consistent.
- Practice. Practice. Practice doing this list.
- Practice some more.
Think About This
Think about this -- Sales training and dieting are similar. You can’t just diet for a week and think that weight is suddenly going to fall off. Same with sales training. You need to keep on training.
Your thought process works in the same way.
Thinking positive works the same way. It is a conscious life style change. Again, not unlike a diet, every once in a while you can indulge yourself with a treat and not blow up over night.
